Terms of Service

Version 2026-09-23 — last updated September 23, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Institflow account and the customer portal that Institflow, the vendor, operates on its own control-plane servers (id.institflow.com and the portal there). They do not govern your use of any institute's own Institflow installation — each institute sets its own terms for that, since each institute licenses and runs its own copy of the software.

What this service is

Institflow builds and licenses the Institflow software, sold self-hosted only. The service these terms cover is the Institflow account (one sign-in usable across every institute you belong to) and, for an institute owner, the customer portal used to request an installation and see its licence. The software itself — students, attendance, invoicing, messaging — runs on each institute's own server under its own licence agreement with Institflow.

Creating an account

You may create an Institflow account if you are a student, guardian, institute owner or staff member being asked to use one. A parent or guardian may create and hold the account on behalf of a minor. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the accuracy of the account details you provide (email, username, phone).

One account, many institutes

Your account can be linked to more than one institute if more than one has added you. Each link is created only when an institute you are actually enrolled with invites you by email, and only becomes active the first time you sign in to that institute; Institflow never adds you to an institute on its own. You may remove any link ("leave this institute") at any time, without affecting your account or your other institute links.

Institute owners and the customer portal

If you request an installation through the portal, the request is reviewed and approved by Institflow before an installation is provisioned; approval, licence terms, pricing and any messaging-relay balance are agreed between your institute and Institflow directly and are not set by this page. Once your installation exists, its own licence details live in its own settings, not here.

Acceptable use

You may not use your Institflow account to attempt unauthorised access to an institute you are not a member of, to interfere with the account service's operation, or for any unlawful purpose. An institute that misuses the platform is subject to its own licence agreement with Institflow, separately from these terms.

Suspension, removal and account deletion

An institute may remove your link to it at any time (for example when you leave the institute); this never deletes your Institflow account or your links to any other institute. Institflow may disable an account that is used abusively or unlawfully. You may delete your own account at any time from your account settings, which permanently removes the account, its sessions and every institute link — the institutes themselves keep their own records unaffected.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The Institflow account and customer portal are provided "as is". Institflow is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from their use, beyond what the law requires. This section does not affect the separate warranty terms of your institute's own software licence, if you hold one.

Governing law, changes to these terms, and contact

The governing law and jurisdiction for these terms will be confirmed here once set by counsel; nothing above should be read as a final position on that question. We may revise these terms; the version and date at the top of this page will change when we do, and the version you accepted at sign-up is recorded on your account. For a security report, write to security@institflow.com; for any other question, write to support@institflow.com.
